Resumen:	David Rutland is a young artist. Police Inspector Moore wants his help. The police are trying to catch a forger called Sharp who steals famous paintings from museums and puts his own forgeries in their place. David goes to Switzerland and becomes Sharp's assistant. Slowly he discovers the forger's secrets. But it is dangerous work -he is followed by cruel men- and when he finds that Sharp is not only a great artist but also has a beautiful daughter, he begins to have moral problems too.
