If that was so, you did right -Unidentified?- Yes, of course; within ten minutes- Thank you." When Lort had put down the telephone, there was a moment's silence. Meritt had turned pale, and when he spoke, he tried to sound calm. "It has nothing to do with...?" "Probably not." Lort was on his feet. WBut you might care to come with me, sir -just in case." "In case...?" "In case it is the body of Sir Stephen Borlase that has just been found below the cliff at Merlin Head." "Accident?" The Superintendent reached for his cap.
