Título : Campbell's Kingdom Tipo de documento: texto impreso Autores: Hammond Innes, Autor ; Alan Ronaldson, Adaptador Mención de edición: 1ª Editorial: London [United Kingdom] : Longman Group Limited Fecha de publicación: 1958 Colección: Longman Simplified English Series Número de páginas: 106 p Dimensiones: 18 cm ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-0-582-52845-1 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Clasificación: :Inglés:Literatura:Lecturas Adaptadas:Sin Audio:B1 Etiquetas: policiaca thriller acción misterio adaptadas B1+ 2000 Resumen:
"Get out of it!" Garry shouted at us. "Run you fool! Run for your lives!"
I heard Garry say: "My God-we've struck it!" Then I was down the ladder and jumping to the ground, running blindly, not knowing what to expect, following the flying figures of my companions. The ground became soft. Water splashed in my face, and I stopped, thinking I had reached the stream. The others had stopped too. They were standing looking back at the rig.
As we watched, the rig tipped over and crashed to the ground. The engine, suddenly freed of its load, raced madly. And then, in the bright moounlight, we watched the pipe, pushed up from the ground, turning and twisting upwards like a great snake. Then, with a roar like a hundred railway trains, it was blown clear.
I'd been too astonished and confused to think what had happened. I still couldn't believe it. "You mean we've struck oil?"

Sometimes they turned up a bit of brick, a small piece of wood. It was nothing; sometime, in some age, bodies of men and women had been buried there, houses had stood there, had fallen, and had gone back into the earth. So also would their house sometime return into the earth. They worked on, moving together -together producing the fruit of this earth- silent in their movement together.
