| Etiquetas: | terror ficción drama catástrofes adaptadas 2000 B1 | Resumen: | The certain sense of some terrible accident began to fill Denis's mind. Strangely, he feared, not for himself, but for Mary. He saw, in his mind, a picture of her with sad eyes and wet hair, holding by the hand a half-dead child. In sudden fright, he shouted and sprang to his feet. He wanted to open the door, to jump out of the train. But he could not.
Suddenly the bridge broke. The train jumped into the air; and Denis found himself under a heap of broken glass and wood. The walls of his carriage spun round him and upon him; and the floor rushed over his head.
"God help us!" he cried, and then whispered; "Mary!"
With increasing speed, the train then dived silently into the black water below. At the same moment as the first faint cry of his child was heard in the cowshed at Darroch. Denis was drowned in the River Tay. | Nota de contenido: | 2000 headwords |
